It's small, versatile, and ultra low cost. The Raspberry Pi (RPi) is an appliance which can now run as a Sinefa probe. It's low power requirement make it ideal for environments where power is limited as the RPi can be powered off a USB interface connected to a switch, router or USB capable device. It's size and cost enable large scale deployment of Sinefa probes where no virtual or server infrastructure exists. Network operators, Service Providers, Bank ATMs and remote locations are all ideal environments for Sinefa's RPi probe. Enterprise locations with limited infrastructure in branch offices can leverage the RPi's tiny hardware package to enable immediate network quality and visibility.
Sinefa for RPi will be available under the software download page and can be installed on any RPi in minutes. RPi's are plentiful in supply and can be purchased from several suppliers depending on your location. They can also be purchased in large quantities with short delivery times. You can buy the Raspberry Pi through Premier Farnell/Element 14 and RS Components/Allied Electronics. Both distributors sell all over the world. The Sinefa RPi software will be available in December giving you enough time to source some of these sweet little appliances.
Once imaged, the RPi automatically registers to your account and starts monitoring. Detailed instructions for imaging a Raspberry Pi can be found in our Raspberry Pi Quick Start Guide.
The RPi further expands Sinefa's deployment options adding to Virtual (VMware, KVM, HyperV), Linux RPM and Amazon AMI. We hope you enjoy this sweet little Sinefa probe.
