Integrated DEM visibility

Employees are increasingly working in a hybrid scenario with more remote users, which means that helpdesk and IT teams must cope with highly variable home IT environments that suffer unpredictable performance issues. Traditional network monitoring, log management and IT infrastructure monitoring tools can't reach those environments. Application performance monitoring solutions (APM--like Dynatrace, Catchpoint, AppDynamics and New Relic) are mostly suited for customer experience monitoring of web page front-ends and back-end server issues. APM application monitoring is far less effective for most employee-facing web applications that are SaaS and can't be instrumented via real user monitoring (RUM) javascript injection. User monitoring tools (like Aternity) tend to focus exclusively on the endpoint, and don't offer visibility into external network factors that have a large impact on user sessions.

The limits of traditional synthetic monitoring

Synthetic monitoring emulates actual users and real browsers, by running HTTP tests on a repeated basis, to your critical applications. Synthetics can help you understand how SaaS like Office 365, Google Suite, and Zoom, are performing, including page load times and other important metrics.

Traditional synthetic monitoring tools that are designed for website monitoring of ecommerce user journeys and basic performance management of SaaS, are limited by a lack of insight into network, wifi, and endpoint issues that impact user interactions and experience. Without this cross-domain visibility, you may know that your critical business transactions are impacted, but you will often not know why.
