Synthetic Monitoring

Gain insights into SaaS application performance and end user experience from everywhere that matters

Sinefa synthetic testing gives you application performance monitoring linked to cross-domain visibility so you can ensure SaaS and internal applications are delivering the user experience that your organization needs.

Understand end user experience everywhere

Gain insight into app performance from branches, data centers, cloud VPCs and user endpoints

Correlate app and network performance

Understand how app performance is impacted by network path and network traffic problems

See the entire service delivery chain

Find device or wifi issues, and network bottlenecks that cause app outages and web performance slowdowns

Probe map

Run synthetic tests from every location

Sinefa offers HTTP synthetic application testing from private hardware or virtual probes deployed in branch offices, data centers and cloud VPCs, and from Endpoint Agents deployed on user laptops and desktop devices. Understand application availability, track uptime, and see what's causing downtime.

Gain deep application performance insights

It's easy to configure multiple application tests and view their performance scores at a glance, then explore key metrics such as DNS, TCP handshake, SSL handshake, and Time to First Byte.

Correlate app and network performance

Every web synthetic test includes the option to enable correlated end-to-end and hop-by-hop network path monitoring, so you can easily tell if problems are caused by network or application resource issues. Understand how app performance is impacted by network path and network traffic problems. See end-to-end network paths, including connectivity to apps via CDNs, and detect Layer 3 outages and slowdowns. Manage third party provider service level agreements (SLAs) more effectively.

See the entire service delivery chain

When you run web synthetics and network path monitoring from Sinefa Endpoint Agents, you also automatically get insights across the entire service delivery chain. Go beyond just app-level insights, and see device, wifi, and network bottlenecks that cause app outages, web performance slowdowns, and impact to business transactions.

Integrated DEM visibility

Employees are increasingly working in a hybrid scenario with more remote users, which means that helpdesk and IT teams must cope with highly variable home IT environments that suffer unpredictable performance issues. Traditional network monitoring, log management and IT infrastructure monitoring tools can't reach those environments. Application performance monitoring solutions (APM--like Dynatrace, Catchpoint, AppDynamics and New Relic) are mostly suited for customer experience monitoring of web page front-ends and back-end server issues. APM application monitoring is far less effective for most employee-facing web applications that are SaaS and can't be instrumented via real user monitoring (RUM) javascript injection. User monitoring tools (like Aternity) tend to focus exclusively on the endpoint, and don't offer visibility into external network factors that have a large impact on user sessions.

The limits of traditional synthetic monitoring

Synthetic monitoring emulates actual users and real browsers, by running HTTP tests on a repeated basis, to your critical applications. Synthetics can help you understand how SaaS like Office 365, Google Suite, and Zoom, are performing, including page load times and other important metrics.

Traditional synthetic monitoring tools that are designed for website monitoring of ecommerce user journeys and basic performance management of SaaS, are limited by a lack of insight into network, wifi, and endpoint issues that impact user interactions and experience. Without this cross-domain visibility, you may know that your critical business transactions are impacted, but you will often not know why.

IT operations teams need a monitoring system that leverages a breadth of performance data to deliver real-time visibility into user behavior and performance problems. so they can quickly solve application delivery challenges from the  point of view, and mitigate business impacts. That's why Gartner recognized a new market for Digital Experience Monitoring (DEM) solutions, even as it downgraded the traditional magic quadrant for Network Performance Monitoring and Diagnostics (NPMD).

Sinefa recognized in Gartner DEM Market Guide

Sinefa has been recognized in the 2020 Gartner Market Guide for Digital Experience Monitoring, as a representative vendor for synthetic monitoring and endpoint monitoring. The market guide highlights employee experience as an important new focus for enterprises, due to the massive relocation of workers to home offices, and the realization by many IT teams that they are ill-equipped with the visibility they need to support remote workers, solve WFH IT issues, and keep employees productive and engaged.

Synthetic monitoring: part of a holistic DEM solution

Sinefa delivers powerful synthetic transaction monitoring capabilities as part of a holistic Digital Experience Monitoring platform that works across all your IT environments and covers broad monitoring use cases including work from home, branch office, data center and cloud VPC, SD-WAN and SASE. Sinefa DEM integrates user experience scoring powered by collective intelligence, DPI traffic analysis (passive monitoring), network path monitoring, and Endpoint Agent monitoring. You get all the visibility you need to ensure higher network uptime, conduct better application performance management, and achieve optimal business outcomes.
