A Sinefa probe is deployed at an Aggregation Point at the edge of the network, typically in a data centre or head office location or where many WAN circuits terminate. For multi-site organisations, Sinefa's scalable solution gives immediate application traffic visibility of every remote location. Sinefa is designed to handle thousands of branch locations and 100's of Gigabits per second leveraging power of the cloud for detailed analytics and presentation from any web browser. Visualize network traffic by VLAN, MPLS label, Subnet and Active Directory group.

Reporting features

Sinefa offers a large number of pre-populated reports enabling users to view historical data analytics by application, host, website and location. Users can also view data usage, PPS, throughput, TCP health and RTT per flow.

Custom Dashboards can be created and search queries are also supported. Sharing information with key stakeholders is as simple as scheduling reports to be emailed within the company and externally as required.

Sinefa Data Explorer provides access for extensive data mining and can be exported into standard formats such as excel. There is also API access for building and supporting third party applications and dashboards. All of these features are available through a dedicated web portal that allows permission-based access to new users. 

Deploying Sinefa

Sinefa is a visibility fabric with flexible deployment options to cover cloud environment, WAN and Internet inter-connects at scale. Organizations obtain visibility into their internet services as well as their WAN, cloud and mobile services.  

A variety of deployments are supported, from distributed probes at the remote locations to a centralised aggregation deployment deployment. Probes covering virtual, physical, AWS and Azure deployments work together to cover any type of network architecture. Bare metal deployments for Sinefa probes are also supported. 

Every deployment is made up of one or more Sinefa Probes. These probes are used to analyze and classify large amounts of traffic in real time. The data is then processed and presented by the portal on (public cloud) with a self-host version of the portal available for customers who cannot use public cloud for security reasons.

Traffic Extraction & Network Coverage

Getting visibility of traffic going out to cloud networks can be a challenge for any company. Service and network architectures have vast differences and leveraging monitoring points is the key to effective traffic visibility across the entire network. Sinefa Probes can ingest traffic from many different mediums with intelligent network taps like Gigamon becoming a common method of traffic extraction. Sinefa offers flexible deployment options including spinning up virtual probes anywhere in the network, which further simplifies network visibility coverage. 

 NFV Ready

Sinefa is architected as a Virtual Function. Sinefa Probes can exist on bare metal or virtual infrastructure and can also be orchestrated into NFV deployments and managed via standard APIs.  Sinefa Functions are compatible with most Openstack-based platforms and can be service chained alongside other network functions like routing, load balancing and firewalling. 


APIs & Contextual analytics

Sinefa stores a wealth of real-time and historical analytics on network traffic.  While Sinefa provides its own presentation layer, extensive APIs allow data extraction based on JSON to be presented or post processed by other toolsets to provide a single pane of glass for all services. Beyond the visibility and control of traffic, Sinefa's analytics can provide value and context to other digital services.
